Description

Goodman Research Group, Inc.(GRG) is a Cambridge, Massachusetts-based research firm specializing in
the evaluation of educational projects and initiatives. Since our inception in 1989, we’ve formulated and
carried out over 500 evaluation studies for a prestigious group of clients around the U.S. We value
customized approaches to our clients and projects, fresh perspectives, open and dynamic working
relationship, and a balance between tradition and innovation. See www.grginc.com for more info about
GRG.

We currently have virtual part-time consultant positions available to work on our evaluation of NASA’s
Universe of Learning (UoL), one of 30 projects funded by NASA’s Science Mission Directorate under its
Science Activation Program. NASA’s UoL is a partnership between the Space Telescope Science Institute
(Baltimore, MD), Caltech / IPAC (Pasadena, CA), Center for Astrophysics | Harvard & Smithsonian
(Cambridge, MA), and NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (Pasadena, CA). The multi-institution team works
together to create and deliver a suite of astrophysics-themed products, programs, and professional
learning experiences for informal and life-long learning environments. Visit https://universe-oflearning.
org/home for more info.

GRG supports the team through strategic learning and evaluation. Our efforts include evaluation of
the NASA’s UoL overall portfolio, as well as evaluation of 19 individual NASA’s UoL projects. Different
types of evaluation are conducted based on the development stage of the program and of individual
products, resources, and experiences. Key types of evaluation include needs assessment, formative and
process evaluation, summative evaluation, and portfolio analysis. We are seeking additional part-time
consultants to manage various aspects or phases of the evaluation.
